En 2016 pasé 6 semanas fotografiando la ciudad de Tánger como parte del trabajo final del master internacional en fotoperiodismo de la Universidad de Sundsvall, Suecia.
Esto es sólo un pequeño fragmento de ese trabajo...

Tangier is considered as the Africa´s gate and it serves as a bridgehead city with Europe. Today, the first image you will get from the city is a massive game of bulldozers and cranes playing to dismantle the area surrounding the sea. It is, in fact, part of the construction, touristic and infrastructure megaproject that the government, in king´s name, have designed to make a difference in Tangier as a global city. The idea behind these massive constructions is to wash the face of a city that was partially abandoned after the International statute ended up in 1960; four years after Morocco achieved its independence. There is no much left from this glorious times when the splendour of an International city attracted the curiosity of travellers, artist and writers. When actual King Mohammed VI made the throne´s speech in 2002 about making of Tangier a competitive city in an international environment, the words had mainly an economic tone. Of course, it is important to face reality and realize that the splendour of a city comes from attracting investments. In the case of tangier, it is still obvious that a lot of investment need to be done in order to see some real changes, but the problem is when the evolution of a city is walking faster than the living conditions of most of its own citizens.
